- The 2007 Moyal Medal, in memory of the late Professor Joe Moyal, was awarded to Peter Drummond , Professor of Physics at University of Queensland. Professor Drummond delivered the 2007 Moyal Lecture on Friday 9 November 2007.
- The 50th Annual Meeting of the Australian Mathematical Society took place at Macquarie University in 2006.
