Alexei Davydov started his academic career at Moscow University, where he did his undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD studies between 1982 and 1990. He was a member of the permanent faculty there between 1990 and 1999. He joined Macquarie University in 2000 as a Research Fellow. He is an internationally recognized mathematician working in the area of algebra, representation theory and category theory. Alexei's other interests include mineralogy, horse riding and scuba diving.
