Thorsten Palm began his academic career at Technische Universität Braunschweig, where he did his undergraduate studies between 1991 and 1997. He moved on to York University in Canada, from which he received his doctoral degree in 2003. One year later he joined Macquarie University as a Research Fellow. He works on the theory of higher-dimensional categories. When he is not working, Thorsten can occasionally be found playing table tennis or other esoteric sports.
