Biographical note: Ernie did a BSc at Adelaide, followed by a PhD at Cambridge in 1963. Next he worked for the U.S.Navy in Washington, D.C., before returning to Adelaide in 1968.
Ernie claims to be ``interested in anything in the real world to which mathematics can be applied, ...
...and that means everything''.
